Step One: Pre-Application

Inform UMass of your interest in applying for the WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program by clicking the Award Program Pre-Application button in the menu on the right and completing the form.

Step Two: Apply Online

Upon receipt of the Award Program Pre-Application form, the McCormack Department of Sport Management will send you a link to the general UMass Graduate Application website through which you must register to apply online and submit your application for either the MS in Sport Management program or the MBA/MS in Sport Management program; the $75 application fee will be waived. From here, candidates will follow the regular admissions process, which is handled directly between McCormack and the applicant.
Application deadlines: Early Action deadline is Nov. 1, 2023; regular deadline is Feb. 1, 2024.

To be considered for admission into either the MS or MBA/MS graduate programs and to be eligible Scholars Award Program and the application-fee waiver described above, both the Scholars Award Program Pre-Application form and any materials or requirements related to the regular UMass Amherst Graduate School admissions process must be submitted or met by the deadlines indicated above.

Step Three: On-Campus Interview

Top candidates will be invited to a two-day on-campus interview session with McCormack faculty, held in February/March, to determine admission into the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst (see the Excluded Fees section above). WISE plays no role in determining a candidate's admission into the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. The two WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program recipients will be selected from the pool of candidates that have been accepted to the respective graduate programs. Award Program recipients will be announced in March 2024. (Note: This is subject to change based on COVID-19 situation.)

Note: The Award Program Pre-Application form does not constitute an application for admission into the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, nor does submitting the form make one eligible for admission into the Isenberg School of Management. By submitting the Award Program Pre-Application form you are giving WISE permission to share with UMass Amherst all of the information you have provided therein.
