WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program

About the Program

With the goal of empowering women to succeed in the business of sports, WISE has partnered with UMass Amherst's #1 ranked Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management to support members who wish to acquire new skills, expand their network and strengthen their leadership capabilities.

Beginning in 2019, the WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program was created to give WISE members a unique opportunity to further their education at one of the country's most prestigious and advanced sport management programs. The program provides two WISE members per year with tuition-free admission into one of two McCormack graduate sport management programs: a two-year MBA/MS dual-degree program that includes an accelerated MBA, and a one-year MS degree program.

"We are excited and honored to partner with WISE on this important initiative designed to further incentivize young professional females to pursue their advanced degree," said professor Steve McKelvey, McCormack department chair. "The breadth of WISE's membership across the sports industry ensures that the recipients of these scholars awards will be the future leaders we seek to attract to our top-ranked graduate program."

The partnership has thus far been a resounding success. Meet our scholars.

NOTE: The graduate programs meet in person, and you must be able to attend on campus. There is no fully virtual program offered at this time.
