WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program
About the Program (In-person)
With a goal of empowering women to succeed in the business of sports, WISE seeks partnerships that will support women in honing their skill sets, strengthening their leadership styles and advancing to the C-suite. Announced in June 2019 at WISE/R Symposium, the WISE/McCormack Graduate Scholars Award Program in conjunction with the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management at UMass Amherst was created to give WISE members a unique opportunity to further their education at one of the country's most prestigious sport management programs. These programs meet in-person and you must be able to attend on campus.
The Scholars Award Program will provide two WISE members a year with tuition-free admission into one of two McCormack graduate sport management programs, the department's two-year MBA/MS dual-degree program and its one-year MS program.
"We are both excited and honored to partner with WISE on this important initiative designed to further incentivize young professional females to pursue their advanced degree," said professor Steve McKelvey, department chair. "The breadth of WISE's membership across the sports industry ensures that the recipients of these scholars awards will be the future leaders we seek to attract to our top-ranked graduate program."
The McCormack Department of Sport Management
The second oldest degree program of its kind globally, the McCormack Department of Sport Management at UMass Amherst is currently ranked by SportsBusiness Journal as the No. 1 graduate sport management program in the world. One of the few sport management programs housed in a business school, the Isenberg School of Management, McCormack is also considered one of the nation's leading undergraduate programs. UMass Amherst is home to the papers of Mark H. McCormack and the company he founded, IMG.
NOTE: The graduate programs meet in-person and you must be able to attend on campus. There is no fully virtual program offered at this time.
