About the Program
The WISE Emerging Leaders Certificate Program is specifically designed to expand the leadership capabilities of female professionals in middle management. This virtual, interactive program will help you hone your understanding and application of business, strategic and financial acumen, and prepare you for advancement.
Over the course of six modules, you will learn the business outcomes prioritized by CEOs, the role of financial measures in executing strategy, and methods for better communicating your proficiency of the business.
Module workbooks and exercises provide ample opportunity for reflection and for putting learnings into practice. Throughout the program, you will be asked to complete an assessment to ensure knowledge transfer and are expected to actively take part in the breakout group exercises.
Who Should Attend
Middle managers, defined as supervisors, project leads, managers, senior managers and directors (depending on organization/company structure and size)
Schedule and Format
Classes meet weekly for five consecutive weeks — Sept. 20 to Oct. 18. Each module is approximately 75 to 90 minutes long. The first class day consists of two modules; the remaining dates are single modules. Most virtual sessions are facilitated by Leading Women, a WISE professional development partner.
Program fee is $1,800 per person. Cohort size is limited to 100 participants.

Strategic and financial acumen aren't skills exclusive to MBAs and executives. Learn how to develop a strong foundation for understanding, executing or creating strategy, and the role of financial measures in the process.
October 4 at 2p.m. ET
Financial acumen is a critical competency for all employees, not just business leaders. Learn basic financial terminology and how to read and interpret three key financial statements: the balance sheet, the income statement, and the cash flow statement.

Registration and Payment
You must have a WISE account and be logged in to register. You may only register for yourself; registrations are not transferable and program participation is limited to the registering WISE member only. Full payment of the program fee is required at the time of registration.
Registration deadline is September 6, 2023 or when sold out, whichever comes first. You will receive a confirmation email upon registration, including instructions on how to access the program. If your company has prepaid for you to attend, please enter the discount code in your cart during checkout.
Seventy-five percent (75%) of the total program fee will be assessed for cancellations received no later than September 6, 2023. All cancellation requests must be sent in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. If a cancellation request is received after September 6, 2023, the entire program fee will be forfeited. No substitutions or replacements of accepted registrants may be made at any time. No refunds will be granted for partial participation in the program.
The program is intended for participants to attend all live sessions to maximize learning. It is a very different experience to watch the recordings as they do not include learning through interactive elements, such as the breakout exercises. While you can still earn the certificate if you pass the quizzes, enrollment is not recommended if you cannot participate fully.
Program Access, Structure and Prerequisites
All modules and program materials will be accessed through the WISE Learning Center. You will be sent email reminders before each module. You must have a Zoom account to participate; a free basic account is sufficient.
IMPORTANT: Please add the email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org email addresses, and the wiseworks.org and connectedcommunity.org domains to your safe senders list. If your company has stringent firewall settings, you may need to contact your IT department. You will need to be able to receive program emails and to access Zoom through the WISE Learning Center.
- The WISE Emerging Leadership Certificate Program includes six modules. Each module is scheduled for 75 to 90 minutes but may run a little longer if there are many questions.
- The first class day consist of two modules and will begin at 2p.m. ET and end around 5p.m. ET. The second module of the day begins at 3:30p.m. ET. There will be a short break between modules.
- Remaining classes are single modules beginning at 2p.m. ET.
- Be prepared to actively participate. Each module will include interactive elements such as breakout groups, polls and annotations in Zoom. The breakouts provide an opportunity to interact with your peers and participate in an exercise where you will apply what you have learned. You may also be called upon to share your experience.
- Quizzes will be available at the end of the class date. You must pass the quizzes to access the materials for the next class date and to complete the program.
- Recordings will be available the following day.
- All coursework must be completed by October 27, 2023 to receive full credit and your certificate. No exceptions.
